“Does god exist”? This question itches humanity ever since we started thinking. Many great scientists and scholars researching in this subject and failed miserably to conclude that chapter with a full proof explanation. And I personally believe atheist and theist are co-related and we can’t completely ignore either of their arguments. There are many celebrities who are actually non-believers ,rationalist, atheist, agnostic whatever we call by name but they make sure not to revel that publicly because as far as India in concerned religion is a major USP up to a extend in every walk of life. So even though many celebrities are atheist only few shown Courage to declare that.

“Since we hail from Thalassery kanur district of Kerala India, we were Communists. It was something taken for granted. As a child, I was never in the habit of going to temples. But, I saw my friends visiting places of worship on the eve of examinations. Then I used to make a secret pact with God that I would do all kinds of things to appease the Gods, if I passed the examination. For some time, I was an atheist. But, there was always a secret fear whether God would decide to punish me for not fulfilling all the promises that I had made during a crisis. On the insistence of my friends, I started visiting a number of places of worship – temples, mosques and churches. One has to be wise to be a believer. But one has to be a scholar to be an atheist. So, after a great deal of thought, I have decided to be a believer.”

You are not going to make money merely by reciting slokas; you need to know the share market, mutual funds and so on. I am learning French even though I am a housewife, a mother, daughter, friend, agony aunt to friends and family. I am practical. That is why I am into social work.

11: Rahul Boss
- Born as?: Hindu:
God is within us. I don’t attach any figure or name to it. I don’t believe in any organized religion. I think God is within each of us. God is within me it is compassionate, funny and mature. It is me and my best. The best attributes in us is what I call God, be it honesty, sincerity or anything you feel is the best in you. I don’t pray to any figure or body. I just pray to myself to expand the best of me so that it fills my entire entity. We should recognize that God is within us and try to expand ourselves. We should be the best in whatever we do and that’s where God lies. I am an atheist, but being so doesn’t stop me from respecting those who believe in religion. Every individual has the right to lead his or her life according to their wish and I respect that. I don’t try to influence anyone or force my opinion on them. Also, my beliefs cannot be influenced by anyone. In fact, my mother has always been religious, but she never compelled me to follow any religion. She let me be myself and take my own decisions. I am not religious, but I do visit religious places. This is because I enjoy looking at the architectural beauty.I have been to various dargahs and temples including the dargah in Agra and Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai. I am always calm, peaceful and energetic. I don’t believe in the presence of any Higher Power. People say that they turn to the Higher Power when they are depressed or when they face any adversity. However, I have never really felt that there is something beyond us. I turn to myself when I am sad or depressed. I listen to music, watch a movie or just lie down in my bed.

17:Shriram Lagoo
- Shriram is a known non-religious rationalist. Once after being conferred with an award called Punyabhushan (Pride of Pune) on behalf of the organization called Tridal, he was interviewed by Sudhir Gadgil. When asked about Jabbar Patel’s play, wherein Dr. Lagoo had to stand before Lord Vitthal, “did you stand there as a devotee or only as per the demand of the script?” Lagoo replied “I stood there as if I was standing in front of a ‘stone’ that is known as Panduranga”.[7] He has written an article titled “Time to Retire God” which provoked hot discussions in the print media and other public platforms in India. This article was written as an introduction to a book on Dr. Abraham Kovoor. In this article Lagoo logically came to the conclusion that the concept of God is defunct. He is actively associated with the Anti-superstition movement in Maharashtra. He used to call god as another superstition and his lectures during the ANS programs used to go like this: “I do not believe in God and I feel it is now time to retire God. Concept of God is a very beautiful product of poet’s imagination and was essential during the initial stages of civilization but the time has come when one should face the world with a completely rational attitude. For the past five thousand years, there has been no proof of the existence of God and faith in a phenomenon, which cannot be proved scientifically, is nothing short of superstition. Many inhuman practices, atrocities and wars have taken place in the name of ‘God’. It is not only necessary, but also our duty to abolish the concept of God to end these consequences because it is a great injustice committed against humanity. “Only rational thinking has the capacity which places person above all living beings but when he/she believes in God he/she gives up this ability and blindly accepts what has been told. He/she submits his/her intellect to passive conditioning and then there is no difference between him/her and an animal. “In the early stages of civilization, when human beings began to live in a society, the concept of superior being was necessary to maintain morality, which came out of fear. Also many of the natural phenomena which scared human beings and to which they could not attribute any reason, came to be regarded as manifestations of the divine power. But today when man has the mastery over nature and accepts any theory only after verifying it on a scientific basis, there is no need for the concept of a supreme being. What is needed is a broad based value system of humanity.”
18: Rajeev Khandelwal
- Rajeev Khandelwal, the Indian Television and Bollywood Actor from Jaipur, Rajasthan. “I love to call myself an atheist. By atheist, I don’t mean i would stand up and start delivering speeches on the non-existence of God. I am the kind of person who doesn’t like wasting time on visiting religious places or performing rituals. They don’t help me in any way.Even before the release of my movie, i neither prayed nor visited any place of worship. I hate superstitions. In fact, if someone advises me to approach an astrologer or some tarot card reader, i get furious. I find such people extremely foolish. However, i am not against people who believe in God. In fact, if someone invites me to any religious place, i accompany him or her. I consider it a plain gesture that i can show for people who love me. My family members are very religious. My mother is totally into puja path and so is my father. I am not saying that ceremonies are bad. I believe every person has the right to do what he or she wants, but you should remember that just going to temple, church or masjid is not going to solve your problems.

26:Ramoji Rao
- Telugu Indian businessman. Owner of ETV It could manifest in two ways: one is a value-based life, the other one is a religion-attached life. I belong to the first category. God to me is a creation of man. As a child, I believed in God. I would walk for three miles to school, barefoot, and pass each day a goddess temple with whom I bargained for good grades or some other nice thing. Belief takes you a long way. When you feel you can do it, then you achieve it. So the belief in God may be a psychological way of achieving it.
